BET Awards

I can honestly say... The BET awards this year was amazing... THE BEST SO FAR... and coming from me... thats is saying a lot bc I'm the anti-BET. (That will b a conversation for another day)

Anyway to sum it up in a few words...Chris Brown, El DeBarge, A. Keys climbing on a piano pregnant, Drake, Em, Prince, Queen and her outfits, return of Keysha Cole, Monica rockin the mic, the Love Jones reunion with Nia Long and Lorenz Tate... the list can go on. Overall it was a terrific show. Big ups to BET for FINALLY doing something right.

Now... Chris Brown. I think his performance was THE BEST!!... He didnt even sing and it was great. If you didnt see it here it is below.

I found this picture of President Obama, who I think is a handsome older man, aged.

The article is stating that Black peoples skin does indeed "crack" or wrinkle and with the stress of this job and that this is how he will look after he is done 4 years.

What do you think?

If you think about it former President Clinton looked different as well when he started versus when he finished.

It's genetics people!

So recently I was home in Philly chillin with my sister.... Fun times, anyway My sister introduced me to one of her co-workers. The conversation went as follows:


Sister: Hey Monica, this is my little sister.
Me: Hi, nice to meet you.
Monica: Hi nice to meet you too. (addressing my sister) Are you two blood sisters, like real sisters?
Sister: Yes
Monica: Really?
Sister: Yes!
(My sister walks away to go get something)
Monica to me: Are yall really sister? Your hair is two different textures. I don't believe you.
Me now annoyed: YES! we are sisters.


Now why is this conversation relevant??? Because my sister and I don't look alike. We haven't looked alike since we were infants. We look like either my dark skinned father or my light skin mother. We don't dress alike either and have different flavors of style that makes it worse for people.

Ive gotten over the fact that that we don't look alike as Ive gotten older. It used to bug me like, why don't I look like my ONLY sister? We are very close and have many of the same friends and the questions just never come up with them because they know our parents and can see.

But what now annoyed me the most are HAIR comments.... were just different. We have both recently gone natural... I have thin wavy short hair like my mothers side and my sister has thick long black hair like my fathers side.

We are different... Its genetics people! Leave it at that.

(Deep breath as I walk away from ignorant people)

Ummm... Like why???

I didn't think people, especially young people, still smoked cigarettes.... I walk around OSU's campus and Im amazed at the amount of people who continue to chain smoke knowing that this will lead to unhealthy results. Its 2010 people. Its not a rumor or hype, It will eventually kill you!

I admit it I have smoked a time or two and have experienced with different types of "products" lol, but never got attached to it like these chimney round here!

Here are my Top 5 reasons why people shouldn't smoke!

1) CANCER- I guess you wanna die huh?!, Dummy!. Stop tryna look cool cuz its NOT.

2) It stinks and so do you and the people around you!. And home girl that damn spray is not covering the smell! NOW, you smell like a cheap tramp that has been on the corner chain smoking waiting for the next Joe lol.

3) It's not cute - so stop doing it cause your friends are...Peer pressure is something. I know, trust me lol.

4) It expensive - Id rather buy clothes idk bout you but cigs are $$$ down the drain

5) Turn off- guys and girls both claim that this is the #1 turn off for both sex's, yup thats why your single!!

P.S. If your offended by this post.... Stop smoking becasue I did this for you seriously.

Me... I cant decide lol. I listen to the whole cd at least 5 times straight and thinks its a classic. I thought that the singles were hot but they got nothing on the rest of the album.... Beats were crazy and lyrics were on point.....

Something New..

Hey Folks!!!

Im a food person and want you guys to be healthy like I am... or at least try to be lol

Mott's Mango Peach Apple Sauce is my favorite new little snack.

I know what ur thinking... apples sauce??? am I a two year old lol....

No really try it. It is really good... I also sometimes put it in my smoothies for breakfast or alcoholic beverages once in a while. It gives it a great tangy flavor that is all natural.

Anyway try it and enjoy!!

Driving Directions

So today I drove from philly to Ohio... Back to school for summer school. So I had a lot of time behind the wheel (9 hours of fun, NOT!).

Anyway.... I decided to put together some simple driving directions for those who may not know the rules of the land that are NOT in the manual, or that have should be.

Highway Driving- Yes, corn fields, stinky chicken houses, and crammed spaces for several hours, Highways!

1) Men, It is okay to ask for directions!. - Id rather you suck it up and ask then us get lost and be in this hot ass car for 30 more minutes while we find out where the hell we are. I will not look at you any less, ill actually appreciate you sucking it up and asking.

2) SLOW and OLD drivers stay to the DAMN RIGHT!!!- If you go the speed limit or anywhere close to it stay to the right. Let us pass and you can remain your slow speed without pissing the rest of us off, Thanx.

3) Yielding- If I am driving on the highway, I do not slow down or speed up for you coming onto the high way! YOU YIELD TO ME!!! Point blank, Period, The End....

4) Rest Stops- maybe its me but I hate stopping at rest stops. It slows me down from my goal, getting there as soon as possible. But when I do stop, I wish white people and there kids would stop staring at me as if I'm the FIRST black person they have ever seen, EVER!. YES black people drive and travel outside of a city. Also... Yes black people like Starbucks.... lol.We enjoy the overly expensive coffee as well!

(Side Note)People please! Expose your children to different cultures EVERYONE (black and white), so they will not be surprised and stare when they see a handicap person, different race, or religion person.

5) TRUCKS - Dont mess with them. Move out of there way, Yield to them. Dont stop in front of them suddenly, they cant brake like a car can. They have a right to be on the road just like we do, even as annoying as they are. Its how our food is delivered from place to place, PERIOD sux it up.

City Driving- The fast paced stop and go and smog filled air.

1) Music -Loud is ok. I like to see what your jammin to and ill share what Im jammin to, just dont blast the radio. Its corny folks. I can get the same song lol.

2) Parallel Parking- If you don't know how, or mess up more then twice.... YES I will laugh at you. Turn your music down, concentrate and do it all ready...lol. Ill have more respect for you as a driver lol.

3) SNOW - When it snows and I shovel out of my spot.... Thats MY SPOT!!.... See the lawn chair???... Dont move it or we will have a problem, SERIOUSLY.

4) Buses- Driving behind buses is like everyone worst dream. They are big, slow and stop frequently. AVOID at all cost lol.

5)Drive through Windows - They are for quick eats... know what you want, have your money ready. They are teenagers behind the window. Dont get mad if they mess up your order, they don't care lol. If you dont know what you want save us all some time and go inside, thanx.
